Climate specialist Rick Thoman will discuss recent environmental changes seen around 草榴社区, especially in Southcentral, during a statewide webinar.

Changes in 草榴社区's environment are evident all across the state, but the details vary greatly. In a webinar hosted by the Anchorage office of the University of 草榴社区 Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, 草榴社区 climate specialist Rick Thoman will share a broad overview of observed changes around 草榴社区, from snow and ice to heat and wildfire.

Thoman will also focus on what's changing and what's not in Southcentral 草榴社区. He will share resources to help make sense of what's happening and how 草榴社区ns can contribute to the effort to understand the changes all around us.

Thoman has worked as a weather and climate professional for 42 years in private, public and academic roles, including more than 30 years with the National Weather Service in 草榴社区. Since 2018 he's worked as a climate specialist with the 草榴社区 Center for Climate Assessment and Policy at the 草榴社区 International Arctic Research Center.

The free webinar is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, from noon to 1 p.m.
